A Walkthrough of a typical Stamped Concrete Installation.
Many people want to know how stamped concrete is done. In fact, it is one of our most frequently asked questions along with what patterns and colors available. So, that being said, we decided to create a page as a quick guide to show you how it is done, and to give you an idea of what to expect when we come to your house or yard.
First and foremost, we consult with you, the homeowner, about the patterns, color and design of your project. After we reach an agreement we start the excavation and prep phase, ending in the area being filled with 5 inches of stone.
Next, we pour concrete with an integral color. This color is not just on the surface, it is mixed through the entire thickness of concrete.
The pattern is stamped, in repeat, into the wet concrete.
The stamping process is now complete, and the concrete is left to set. This takes approximately 24 hours.
The final stage of the process has finally been reached. After the concrete is cleaned and pressure washed, control joints(small cuts) are made to allow the concrete to breathe to prevent any cracking. At this point the concrete is sealed, and your stamped concrete job is complete!
